Community Alliances to Promote Education (CAPE) is a competitive initiative offered by the Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc. (The Endowment). The Endowment seeks to assist selected Indiana community foundations that desire to find ways to enhance the educational attainment and the quality of life in their communities.

The CAPE Initiative is designed to support and/or facilitate the research, design and planning of strategic and innovative community-based education programs. The Endowment believes that education and training needs are best determined at the local level.
